UseMyNet turns the award winning Linksys WRT54GL into a powerful WiFi Hotspot.
Welcome to UseMyNet.biz. Our software lets you offer paid for or free Wifi Zones, also known as Captive Portals with your own branding. Unlike our competitors YOU retain all profit from your wireless hotspot. Purchasing our UseMyNet preinstall hotspot router, or easy-to-install router firmware, means you don't have sign up to any revenue sharing or monthly charging schemes. The UseMyNet software is totally contained on the router, there are no external authentication servers. This gives you total control and makes it ideal for small businesses, coffee shops or hotels.
Our software lets you create three types of WiFi Hotspot System:
i) Unlimited access with Landing page.
Clients are redirected to a landing page with an "I Agree" button. On clicking the button customers are allowed Internet access for an limited, or unlimited duration. This method is ideal for businesses who wish to provide free Internet access. The landing page can inform customers who is providing the service and optionally ask them to agree to Terms of Service.
Many companies including Holiday Apartments and a chain of Car Dealerships have chosen this solution to providing free WiFi to their customers.
ii) Ticket Code access.
Our software allows you to create and maintain a database of several thousand unique 5 letter access codes. The codes can be optionally printed out by the operator and sold to customers as Internet Access Tickets. Clients are redirected to a landing page where they are prompted to enter the access code. If the code is correct they are granted access for the defined duration, after which traffic is redirected back to the landing page.
You have the ability to create codes of three different durations. We call these "Red Tickets" "Green Tickets" and "Blue Tickets" which could for example equal 30-Minute 1-hour and 24-hour tickets. This is our most popular configuration for Internet Cafes or anywhere providing chargeable WiFi Internet Access.
iii) Shared code access.
You may optionally define a single code that can be used by several clients. We call this a "White Ticket". This code can grant limited (or unlimited) duration access. This feature was widely requested by businesses that wished to provide free WiFi access whilst still having a very basic control of who has access. For Example a Coffee shop could advertise the ticket code on their menu or Blackboard and change it weekly.

Traffic Limiting.
For each code type you can set a maximum traffic limit as well as duration. For example "Red Ticket 5 MB 180 Minutes". Our software keeps track of the traffic generated per session (combined up and download). If the limit is passed then the session is ended.
Web Content Filtering with OpenDNS
Opendns.com provide free web content filtering. Our software integrates with OpenDNS so that you can easily setup OpenDNS web content filtering on your UseMyNet unit.
Limit to Free Sessions.
Customers can now be prevented from using multiple Free or White Tickets in a set period. By setting this period to 24 hours, customers must wait until the next day before using another Free session. During this period the customer will get a message asking them to use a paid ticket instead.
Specify starting Website.
When a customer starts a session they are normally redirected to the website that they requested. It's now possible to specify the redirect website, so after starting a session they are redirected to a website of your choice.
Improved session listing.
The list of sessions in the administration page now shows the connected computer names and the amount traffic used in megabytes.
