What is the UseMyNet hotspot system ?

UseMyNet is software that you can install on a home Wifi router turning it into a powerful Wifi hotspot.

How does it work ?
First you need to install the software onto the router, full instructions are supplied. Then you plug the router into your existing internet connection (Cable or ADSL). Then put the device close to a window or install an optional external antenna. The unit will broadcast an open wireless signal. If you've already got a wireless network you should make sure that is secure, or people could use that for free. Then when someone connects they are prompted to enter a ticket code. A correct code will allow them internet access for a defined amount of time.

Which routers will it work on ?

We recommend the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 or the Linksys WRT54GL. Although the software should work on any router that

is supported by OpenWRT.

What's the range of the unit ?
It's the same as any other wireless router, about 35m indoors and 140m outdoors. With an optional external antenna you can extend the range further and reach more customers.
